INTERVIEW TO NOEMI
Noemi hasn't got a great memory, but she remembers how she felt on the first day at her school. She was scared because she thought that the school was too big for her. The best holiday she had ever had was in Germany.
She's always positive about the future. I asked if the planet would be a better place in a hundred years, and she answered that she thinks so. When she's older, Noemi would like to live in Barcelona, because she likes the city. She promised that she would do Batxillerat this year.

MY SECOND TERM LEARNING REFLEXION
I think that the second term of English in general was great. The aspects that I have to improve are specially the pronunciation and the writings. I'm happy about my oral presentation because I think that now, when I have to be in front of the class and present my power point, I'm more relaxed and of course, I speak better. Also because I enjoyed the topic that I've chosen. The bests parts for me in the subject of English are the half group lessons. Although, the grammar is very important, but I prefer doing speakings, magazine, writings... It's more interactive. As I said as before, I have to practice more the writings. It's quite difficult for me do a writing, because I have to learn more vocabulary and the connections. About the blogs, I don't like so much because for me is quite stressing but we have enough time to do it. I believe that one of the best ways for learning English is watch a film (or also a song) because you have to paid attention for understand what they say. I like a lot the film Crash that we watched in class. In short, I can make it much better, specially in the blogs, but it's OK.

Edinburgh
Introduction of Edinburgh
I'd like to talk about a city called Edinburgh, which is the capital of Scotland and is situated in the north of Great Britain.
Edinburgh is an old but modern city. For example when you are in the shopping centres, you can see the castles in the background.
Edinburgh has got a lot of lovely buildings and parks and it's not too polluted.
I went to Edinburgh last summer in August. August is a good month to visit Edinburgh for two reasons. Firstly, the weather is usually quite good and secondly, there is a very famous festival: the Edinburgh Festival.
Entretainment, festivals, monuments...
Another important part of Scotland is called Lock Ness. 'Loch' means lake and this lake is very famous because some people believe that a monster lives in it, but a lot don't believe this.
The most indispensable monuments of visiting, the streets fullest of captivation and of people for walking, the most entertaining activities... :
- Walk along the Royal Mile
- Edinburgh Castle
- Loch Ness
- The Edinburgh Dungeon (house of terror, inspired basically by Braveheart's history)
I thought that the people looked very strange and quite a lot of the teenagers were dressed in the Gothic style, which, for me is depressing, but in Edinburgh, it's quite trendy. We had some problems when we were in there.
It was possible to see some men wearing the Scottish traditional dress, which is a skirt, called a kilt, a jacket and long white socks and shoes. It is said that Scottish men don't wear anything under the kilt, so I asked a man who was wearing a kilt and all the traditional dress about this. At first he didn't want to answer, but then he said that they wear nothing under it.
The typical instrument of the scottish people is the bagpipes and I could saw a man playing it when I went to the Lake.
I think that the scottish people eat very well. The traditional food is the 'haggis' and shortbread biscuits too, which are made with a lot of butter. Another traditional product in Edinburg or Scotland in general is the whisky. It's very famous and scottish people drink a lot.
The schedule that they have is not the same that ours. A scottish person gets up very early and have a good breakfast, because for them it is the most important meal of the day. They have lunch between 12:30 and 1:30 and have dinner approximately at 6:30. When I stayed in, I followed the same schedules of always. Anyhow, I think that their diet is healthy.

History, English and Maths
In “La Sagrada Família", we can see some things related to the mathematics, for example:
- Columns: The trunks of the columns are geometrics.
- Proportions: the sizes of the “Sagrada Família” are studied for mathematical methods.

Life story
My earliest memory is very clear. It was the first day of school and I was very frightened. I didn't know anybody, but I made wonderful friends quickly. I also remember when my friends and I were in the Barbilan's Park. We were celebrating my birthday and we had a really good time.
I've been at Casa Nostra School since I was three. When I was young I'm very shy, now I'm more sociable and mature. One part of my body that changes a lot is my hair. Before was very straight and chestnut-brown and now is curly and dark.
When I finish secondary school, I study "Batxillerat". Before I'm old I really want to live abroad.

The Communitky Fund
16 Suffolk Street
London
SW1Y 4NL
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to enquire about lottery funds for a community project in our town.
Banyoles is a small town near Girona in Catalonia. There is a beautiful lake, but there aren't any much places for entertainment. For that reason, we would like to build a shopping centre here: with cinemas, shops, restaurants... I would be grateful if you could send me some information about lotterly grants. If you have any questions about our project, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Yours faithfully,
Emma Tarrés.

My world
Mmmm...
Harrods, a very posh shop in London, has invented ice cream with traditional British flavours.
The most popular flavours include sausage and mash, cheddar cheese and pork pie!
In my opinion, with one look to the image I can say that this ice cream is so bad, but, of course, I don't taste it. I think that the people who eat it, are truth heroes!

When you say nothing at all - Ronan Keating
Ronan Keating Lyrics
When You Say Nothing At All Lyrics
What's the meaning of the song?
The meaning of the song is that one boy is falling in love with one girl. He loves her infinitely and I supose that she too. The boy in the song says very beautiful phrases, for example that he hear her when she doesn't say anithing, that only with one smile, she makes him deal that she never leave him. One it's all for the other one, he is everything for her and she is erverything for him. This is true love and the rest are bilges!
Why I choose this song?
I choose this song because, of course, I like it very much. I think that the melody is so beautifull and the meaning of the song too. It's difficult to find the real love and when you find it, it's so wonderful and you don't have to leave he or she go. If it happens to you once in the life, you can consider yourself to be lucky. In addition, he finds the exact words to express his feelings, and sometimes it costs.

My last summer
This summer in general was great. As soon as the school finished we celebrated it in LA NAU. As every day of summer I got up late and I watched Tv until lunch time. After that, in the afternoon, I met my friends and we did different activities. Our special activity in summer is going to the Pierrot. In the first two weeks of August, Gemma and I went to Scotland. It was fantastic! Edinburgh is so wonderful, and we had a really good time. During the summer my friends and I did some more activities, for example: we went to l'Escala, to the Festes del Tura in Olot, we celebrated the Sant Joan together, we went to the hippie's festival... Although this summer is not the best, I'm happy about it.
The earthquake
The incident began at twelve o'clock. First, everything started trembling and the people didn't know what happened, but immediately they understood that it was an earthquake. People were very scared and immediately they called the firemen and the police.
They came as soon as the people called and the people were evacuated. The police and the firemen took them to a save place.
Finally, after two hours, all people went to in a save place. The earthquake caused several damages and accidents. The most serious was the one that we can see in the photo. One of the victims said, "It was the most frightening experience that I've ever had".
